The staff at Harbee’s have always been very welcoming and friendly that when I first started visiting I knew Pilsen had something special. It was a place where I saw many of Pilsen’s culturati intermix with the old school working class that has been going to the bar since forever. Some friends have told me stories that their grandfathers used to hang out there back in the day. Now it offers up hundreds of craft beers from Chicago and all over the world where Pilsenites and other southsiders come to kick it, watch a game, or dance their ass off when a DJ is playing at night. In short, it has become my favorite hangout, my version of ‘Cheers’ in my neck of the woods.
I have worked with Harbee’s as a DJ in the past and it has always been a pleasure to play there. Steve, Iliana, and the rest of the staff “get it”. They bring in talented local jocks who keep it real with the jams. And it's with joy and gratitude that I’m launching my new monthly residency every 3rd Sunday of each month.
Come help me kick it off right! I will host a different guest DJ(s) each month and we’ll play all sorts of killer jams on wax. This month I have asked a DJ whose taste I admire and who has a killer record collection, Ms. Alicia Herrera!
